Startups now-a-days don’t require you to possess a special educational qualification to apply for job or acquire position similar to what you studied in startup-ecosystem. There are innumerable examples where the students from different graduation/post-graduation streams started very different sector such as laundry service, courier service, gym service, architecture and interior designing etc. apart from Fintech, Edtech and other Tech -startups which are quite possible and coherent to their educational-training.

With all the technology startup currently (2017) hailing into market have huge requirement for developers who have knowledge of frameworks. Most of the startup product is shifting from PHP language to Python scripting, hence as a result Python web framework like Django or Flask is must for you to learn. The reason which startup gives behind this migration to Python is that developing on Python frameworks is easy and fast.

Marketing- What and How ?
Marketing is that vertical where startups generally have high burn rate. With the internet booming in Indian Startup space, this burn rate is usually high in digital marketing space. In 2000, where only 0.5 percent of the Indian population had access to internet facilities, after 17 years in 2017, the figure climbed to 28 percent with 373 million internet users.
However, digital marketing space reduced alot in terms of money-expense in comparison to traditional marketing tactics. But every good thing comes with a price and price in this vertical is that digital-marketing guy need to be creative as well. For example, you must have seen TVF’s Permanent RoomMate or AIB’s Honest-Wedding or Nescafe’s Cartoonist concept-video.
These are not ads but a commercial project in which there is a creative story line sponsored by some brand and these brands are introduced in very subtle way to keep the taste of story as well as USP of brand on same level. So, today :

Operations- What and How ?
Operations is one of the most challenging vertical for any startup. This vertical employs terms like Business-operation or Operation Management depending upon nature and business of the company. This article will try to give you snap on roles and responsibilities which are generic for any startup when it comes to operations. Its been observed that more than 300+ startup had to shut its door on the ground of imperfect operations and insufficient man-power/logistic.
Neither its starting up, neither its selling the service/goods, if equal amount of attention is not paid to execution of Startup, it is doomed to fail.
However, operations/execution is challenging task, as for many startup this vertical is not clear. Startups have to evolve and emerge with respect to market in this vertical as things are vague and from anything to everything, an operations guy need to take care of.

Sales require the people having complete sense-abilities as these people mainly interact with prospects and client. These are the people who understand startup-product to its core level, hence able to turn the prospect into client who is willing to pay you for your service. They have direct relationship with marketing people and its combined effort which marketing and sales people pull-in to create awareness and selling-value to product respectively. The people in sales need to have great patience as they interact with customer and they are basically responsible for business-development. These people bring in the cash to company.
Sales Guy is one who is consistently persuasive and expert in communication.
In technical level, these guys need to have technical understanding of product (means they must have programming experience if applicable in startup-business space), strong vocabulary in prospective language (English, Hindi and Local Language) and have basic knowledge of all traditional and marketing channels. These days sales people do have designing skills, so if you do have this, you have plus point. Apart from this, they should be able to convince the people and should not be repetitive in interactions or while speaking. These people generally handles the calls for company.
